A vampire is an undead creature that must live off blood to survive.
In order to become a vampire, another vampire must feed off a person three consecutive nights in a row. After the third night, the victim dies and becomes a vampire.
A vampire is no longer alive. They also have no shadow and cast no relection, nor do they show up in security cameras. There are, somewhat apocryphal, tales of vampires birthing or siring children. This has never been proven, and no child of such a union has ever been discovered. Vampires under a certain age do, however, age three to four years after being turned. The amount of aging done can be longer if it is an extremely young (less than ten) before turning. Typically, teenage vampire will age to eighteen or nineteen before stopping, if they are lucky, seventeen or eighteen if they are not.
The Cure--Within a full day of the victim becoming a vampire, or at any point during the three day ritual, the vampire that made him must be slain. Other than that, there is no known cure.
A freshly created vampire does not have many powers. Perhaps the ability to mesmerize for very brief periods of time, or the ability to become a little bit wolf or bat-like, or slightly enhanced strength and/or speed. Very old vampires tend to be very terrifying.
All vampires can produce fangs and climb walls without the use of claws.
A vampire must have at least one person's worth of blood a week or else they become sick and sluggish. Any mammal blood will do, though fresh blood tastes better, and fresh human blood tastes better than any other food could ever taste.
Vampires are repelled or burned by holy items only if the person wielding them has faith. Any object that impales a vampire through the heart turns the undead into simply a corpse, until that object is removed. It does not need to be a wooden stake. Fire or sunlight can kill a vampire, and silver weapons can injure them, though tend to not be able to kill them. They can slow a vampire down, however, as it has to stop and actively heal from a silver weapon.
Nothing else kills a vampire.
