Name: Aislin Phyre (pro: I-slin Fire; Old English meaning the dream that burns brightly)
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Type: A Seelie Fae, commonly known as a Salamander (i.e. a flame elemental)
Elective(s): Introduction to Ranged combat; Introduction to Magick; Spanish
Ethnicity: English
Description: Aislin is fairly average in height (5'8”) and weighs somewhere around 10 and a half stone. She has plenty of feminine curves even at this stage of puberty, some of which probably get her into more trouble than she'd like with the male species. She has long dark auburn hair that has a slight wave to it, flowing to her waist, and eyes that are either brightest gold or darkest brown or anywhere between, mood-dependent. Her skin is a light olive shade. Everything about her appearance, physically, speaks of fire, and often she'll mimic this in her clothing too. She also has a small scar that looks like a flame on the back of her right hand, shiny, as though she'd been burned.
Personality: Aislin's personality is somewhere between the traditional stereotype of cold and aloof for the Faeren nobility (not that she is Faeren nobility . . . is she? No, of course not) and volatile. Usually cheerful, but sometimes moody and at others downright aggressive, she is prone to mood swings. She can be bubbly even, and has a certain weakness for sherbert dust that results in several hours of her going absolutely kittenish and/or nuts. She is mostly harmless though, and doesn't particularly like hurting others. The ones who get to see her colder side are generally those she doesn't like or those that have just angered her. Emotionally, she can be quite vulnerable, though she tries not to show it, and certain things will knock her confidence for six, her lack of family and possible reasons why, for example, or her appearance, which she can be quite sensitive about. She also hates being “drowned,” as she'd put it, with water. When depression hits, which isn't often unless someone has said something or other, she tends go into a rapid downward spiral, but once helped out she bounces back quite fast. She can have anger issues at times, and you'll be hard pressed sometimes to catch her in a promise; if you do manage, be sure to close the loopholes!
History: Aislin was found as a very young child be police in a burned out building, the sole survivor without a mark on her, not even of soot. The only thing she knew was her name; Aislin Phyre. No one was quite sure how she got there or why she was there, and the police passed it off as something that just couldn't be explained. She was adopted, and raised by a human family and took their name of James, who discovered that she had a slight obsession with fire as she grew older; she could watch a candle flame for hours and had a distinct dislike for being caught without warning in a heavy downpour and wasn't terribly fond of pitch black darkness either. Prone to sitting still and quiet for long periods, or exicted running about, they accepted her quirks and loved her as she was.
She was happy with the human family, and grew up unaware of her powers. She was sent to a small boarding school when she was eleven for a better education. But tragedy struck when she was fifteen, a month after her birthday in April. A Vampire managed to sneak into the school during Parents' Day, posing as a father there to see his daughter. He managed to kill many of the students, some of the adults, and the rest were in a trance-like state. Terrified as she watched him approach her mother, Aislin reacted on instinct. Because her powers were uncontrolled, she not only killed the Vampire, but nearly burned down the school too in a concentrated blast of flame. Her human mother is left with a lace-like scar on the left of her face. Both human parents are now in an asylum, and Aislin once again has taken on the name of Phyre, ashamed to be their daughter because of what she's done. But this isn't something she'll let others see easily, and in fact is determined never to reveal.
Powers: Largely flame-oriented, for example summoning the element and being able to merge with, and disappear into, flame. Though her ability to find loopholes and to twist words to her advantage would probably be considered a super power by any lawyer.
Inventory: A necklace with a tear-drop amethyst that belonged to her human mother; the only thing she has left of them now other than memories, and an armband she was wearing when discovered as a child, that still fit her upper right arm no matter how much she grew, that resembles drops of fire falling from a gold vine. From the less-fantasy world, a slim black netbook and a small black MP3.
